Pom was born on the Canadian province of Quebec to an Korean mother and a French-Russian father who both worked as consuls to the French government. Eugene Klementieff was her grandfather. Pom was the name that her parents named her, is the Korean pronunciation of both spring and tigers. Klementieff and her family lived for a time in Canada, before traveling extensively as a result of her father's job. The first destination was France. Then they lived in Japan and then moved towards in the Ivory Coast.
