Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford is a British-born American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who served as the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their rock-star sound and raucous lyrics made them popular throughout the world of rock. The band didn't have much of a following in The United States. However, their fame grew internationally especially in Japan. Ford's solo metal career was successful after the 1979 group break-up. After taking lessons in singing, she launched her debut solo album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Both albums failed to get much attention and Ford disappeared from the world of rock for several years. In 1988, Ford returned to the music scene by releasing a dazzling album titled 'Lita. Both the song "Kiss me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were huge hits. However, her fame was brief, and she went under the radar for a few years. Her re-emergence was with the release of "Black" from 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland" which came out almost 15 years following. The album she released most recently "Time Capsule," released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
